The Justice Workshop is a nonprofit, community organization whose purpose is to empower individuals through education and community outreach.
At our core, we believe access to knowledge, resources, and tools for change are key to making progress on critical issues impacting our society.
Our education and outreach efforts focus on three main pillars:
We invite you to join us and help create a democracy that is built on the values of true representation, equity, and justice.

Current Projects
Proportional Ranked Choice Voting
The current electoral system in the United States does not result in meaningful representation for all our communities and continues to uphold the status quo. Proportional Ranked Choice Voting (PRCV) is a voting system where voters rank candidates in order of preference and seats get allocated proportionally based on the number of votes received by each party or candidate.
This system results in greater diversity of political parties and viewpoints, ensures that every vote cast counts and voters don’t feel the need to choose a “lesser of two evils,” and the outcome truly represents the will of the people.
Cannabis Social Equity
The Justice Workshop is committed to working with community members, leaders, and elected officials to create cannabis social equity programs that provide economic opportunities both in and outside the cannabis industry for those individuals, families, and communities most negatively affected by the war on drugs. We are working together to repair the harm inflicted on low income and communities of color by cannabis prohibition.
Statewide and Local Law Enforcement Oversight
The goal of law enforcement oversight is to hold agencies and police officers accountable, to build trust with community, and to identify and provide solutions for systemic problems at the local and state level. The Justice Workshop is proud to be working with California city, county and state officials on creating an independent statewide law enforcement oversight board that will do just that.
